Barkerville Cottages

Fully equipped modern vacation rentals at the doorstep of the historic town

The Barkerville Cottages are the perfect retreat any time of year. Each of our four cottages offers a wheelchair-accessible main floor, fully equipped with a queen bedroom, full bathroom, laundry, kitchen, dining, and living room facilities. The second floor offers a powder room and two additional bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. The cottage is fully furnished, and rental includes bed linens, towels, kitchen equipment, dining ware, basic toiletries, laundry, and dishwashing supplies. A television, DVD player, and Wi-Fi are also provided. The cottage porch offers a sheltered space to enjoy the fresh air, and the cottage mudroom provides a place to securely store recreational gear and extra luggage.

The St. George Hotel

The St. George Hotel depicts an authentic 1890s atmosphere while providing guests with modern amenities. The quaint seven-room property offers beautifully appointed rooms, fabulous breakfasts and a front row seat to the comings and goings of Barkerville’s colourful characters.

The King & Kelly Guest Houses

Located within the heritage site in two restored Barkerville homes. Guests will be surrounded by period decor that will transport you back to the Cariboo’s great gold rush era. 

Currently closed for the season. Re-opening in 2021.

Barkerville Campgrounds

The Barkerville Campgrounds comprises three campgrounds located close to Barkerville Historic Town.   Whichever campground you choose, you will have scenic views and will be close to mountain creeks as well as beautiful walking and biking trails.

The Campgrounds:

• Lowhee Campground

  Open June 26 – September 19, 2021

  Located right along Hwy. #26 just 2 km east of Barkerville, contains 87 sites. This campsite features a playground, coin operated showers and flush toilets, and is wheelchair accessible. There are also 5 sites with power and 4 cabins available to book.

• Forest Rose Campground

  Open June 26 – September 19, 2021

  Located just 3 km from Barkerville, on Bowron Lake Rd, Forest Rose offers 54 campsites with a group picnic shelter, playground, horse paddock rentals, coin-operated showers and flush toilets. Pull-through spots are available. This site is wheelchair accessible. Horse-friendly!

• Government Hill Campground

  Closed in 2021

  Governmental Hill has 23 campsites and 8 cabins available to book, and is located within walking distance of historic Barkerville. Features include a playground, fire rings, picnic tables, pit toilets. Not suitable for large RVs or long units.
