Since 1999, the Wells Museum has occupied the building that once served as the Island Mountain Mine office. Responsible for housing, protecting and displaying the history of Wells British Columbia, the Wells Museum hosts a diverse collection of artifacts recalling the second Cariboo Gold Rush between 1930 - 1967. Some of our favourite artifacts include a giant drill bit head chess set and two vaults located on the sides of the building that were used to hold gold and money. The Wells Museum is open June - August, Friday to Monday 10AM - 5PM. Come explore!
