Parks & Recreation
In addition to the trail networks and nearby Bowron Lakes, there are a number of local recreation opportunities.
The Wells Community Fitness Centre is located in the basement of the Wells-Barkerville School. The facilities include free weights, 2 treadmills, elliptical trainer, 2 stationary bikes, step machine, bow-flex, balance equiment, and various therabands. The centre does not have safety supervision and operates by self-regulation by participants.
Fitness Centre Fees:
$20 per month
$90 for 6 months
$160 for 1 year (12 months)
$60 summer special for 4 months!
A $25 cash key deposit is required for all users.

Ball Diamonds, Playgrounds & Skating Rink
The District of Wells maintains several parks & recreation facilities throughout the community for public use. These include:
- 2 small baseball diamonds at the school
- Large baseball diamond at the west end of Pooley St
- Skating rink at the school
- Playground at the school
- Playground at the Community Garden
- Picnic park at the east end of Pooley St
- Fred Wells Park at the intersection of Pooley St and Sanders Ave.
Please respect these facilities and help us keep them clean and safe.
Drop-in yoga is provided by local instructors at the Community Hall in the Ballet Room (top floor). Currently on Mondays at 8:00 am Drop-in fee is $8.
