The District of Wells will be having a By-Election on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Advance voting will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 (tbc).

  • The By-Election will be for the position of (1) MAYOR and (1) Councillor.

Municipalities also hold elections every four years and so the District of Wells, along with every other municipality and regional district in the province, will also be holding a general election in the fall with the general voting day falling on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

In preparation for the By-Election and the General Election, there are a number of resources available to community members who are considering running for Mayor or Councillor. As we prepare for the By-Election and General Election, the District will make resources and links available on this page.

The Provincial Government provides a number of excellent resources for elections, which can be accessed here: BC - General Local Elections

As noted on the provincial page: During the election process, candidates generally outline their platforms and objectives if they were to be elected. By choosing the candidates with the ideals and qualities that are most acceptable to the electors, citizens can directly influence the nature of the community where they reside or own property.
